About: picking the right Amazon store when buying a paperback

Hello to all my friends from all over the world!

If you love buying on Amazon, you might have noticed that there are different stores in different countries and that those prices vary from website to website, from currency to currency and all that other stuff.

If you are like me and love getting the best deals, without compromising on delivery speed or quality, this is the blog for you. So read on and keep your wallet full.

Or you know, not completely empty…

In this guide, I will primarily walk you through buying the Love pill on choosing the right Amazon store, without spending ridiculous amounts of your money on shipping fees. Because that would be a waste if you can get it send to you for free or at a minimal cost. 🙂

There will be some other tips on how to get it delivered faster without paying more as well.

I will be using my book the Love pill as the example with provided links to the book, making it easier for you.

You can, of course, use this guide for any other book!

If any of the information is inaccurate, please do let me know, since I am certainly not an expert on all the different Amazon stores and how shipping is in all over the world.

Let’s clear a few things up about the pricing of the Love pill. If you don’t really care, just scroll ahead to the part that is relevant to you. The guide is divided in different currencies, so you can easily skip ahead to the currency that applies to you.

I priced the Love Pill at 14.99€, but with different currencies and taxes, this price may vary, but it is always around this price. So my apologies for the fluctuations, but it’s sadly out of my hands.

Disclaimer 1: Sometimes it is just not possible to NOT pay for shipping fees! In this guide, I am helping you to find the minimum cost, which in the best case scenario is free. But if this is not possible, don’t bite my head off, please. If you feel like a shipping fee is unfair, imagine you having to get up, go outside your house, into the city for a bookstore, stand in line with sweaty people and interact with humans. If you still feel like the fee is unfair, well, then you are way better adapted to the outside world than me, that’s for sure!

Disclaimer 2: The world is a big, big place and for me to know exactly how much it will cost to buy, print and sent a book to your home, is just not possible. The only way I would know that, is if I were a stalker. And I am not. I promise. Also, I am just human so I can be mistaken. If that is the case, please be so kind to address the issue in an orderly fashion.

To buy the Love Pill, or any book, you will need:

1. The Internet
2. A credit card
3. This guide
4. An Amazon account ( We will get to that)

You can order the book, almost regardless of where you live. Amazon ships worldwide at a decent rate!

Both the US, UK, and Japan have a store for their region, but Europe has a couple of different websites in different languages and for different areas. Down in the post, I will give some tips on which to use. If you are from Europe, but frequently use the US and UK version and want to stick with that one, you definitely can.

Down below you will find:

  1. Guide for € users
  2. Guide for $ users
  3. Guide for £ users.
  4. Guide for ¥ users

1. I count in euros €€€

For my European buddies: This will be a bit tricky, as there are different web stores for different regions, all with different taxes and shipping fees.

There are Amazon stores for almost any language available, but only a select few of them sell paperback books. So I will direct you to the stores that do.

If you are planning on buying solely the paperback, keep on reading. If you want to buy both, you should definitely check out the store in the US, as you can get the ebook for free when you buy the paperback, but you might end up paying more for shipping. So you will have to calculate those costs for you personally. So definitely take a look at the guide for the US.

If you just want the paperback, keep on reading 🙂

If you live in France, you should purchase the book on the French website, as they do free delivery to anyone in France. Well, it costs 1 cent for shipping and the tax is a little lower there too. Nice, right? 🙂

I will provide you with a direct link to my book.

There is also an Italian and Spanish website. You can use either of them if you speak the language, of course. If you buy up to 19€ worth of goodies, you will get free shipping. At least, that is what I understood from it. ( Sadly, I don’t speak those languages, so if I am mistaken, my apologies.)

If you live in either Italy or Spain, I recommend this for you, since on other websites, you probably will have to spend those extra euros on shipping anyway.

Italy:

Spain:

For the rest of you in Europe that don’t live in either France, Italy or Spain and don’t understand those languages either, I highly recommend buying the book on the German website.

Now, you must be thinking: hey, I don’t speak German!

This is the only store that lets you translate the website into English, Polish, Dutch and Turkish! That is quite a handy feat.

All you need to do is look for the globe in the blue navigation banner and change the language to English or any other language that you do speak.

You could leave it in German if you are a native speaker, are a fluent speaker or you’d like to challenge yourself, but that is at your own risk 🙂

The website is in a language you can understand? Good. Now you are ready to order a book!

Just a heads up: Taschenbuch = Paperback.

They did add an extra euro as tax, rounding up the total of the Love Pill to 16 euro and an awkward 4 cents. Weirdos. But they do free shipping to a couple of countries around Germany. Their shipping fees are relatively low, depending on where exactly you live, so it is still affordable.

If you don’t like paying for shipping fees, you could add more books to your basket, since a lot of their other items don’t ship outside of Germany. At least, when I tried, it didn’t, so perhaps I just had bad luck?

Feel free to try, but you are warned and hey, books are awesome and you can never have enough of them! But that is all up to you. Have fun with it!

So, there is nothing left to do than click the link and order your very own copy of the Love pill! No more hassle.

When you are at the checkout, you can choose the standard delivery, which will offer you the cheapest fee possible but can take a little while. But feel free to upgrade your shipping if you don’t mind paying a couple of euros more.

Again, I refer to the shipping fee as an ‘ I don’t have to leave the house fee’.

If you enjoyed the book, please rate the book or write me a short review on Amazon or even on Wattpad. It would help me out a lot and will help other readers find my book too!

If you live in Germany or Austria, you can speed up your delivery time by signing up for Prime. It will take an extra two minutes to sign up, but it will shave off DAYS from your shipping time. But this is just optional since the delivery is pretty fast anyway.

2. I count in $$$

For my US friends: Amazon.com ships all over the US, making it incredibly easy for you to order anything online.

There will be a small shipping fee if you buy under 25$, so there are two options, depending on if you regularly use Amazon or not.

I use Amazon all the time!

You can simply add more items you want in your basket, so you get up to the required amount and get free shipping to anywhere you live. And of course, this way, you have a lot of more items arriving in your mailbox, so that is always fun!

If you not only want free delivery but also fast delivery, keep reading 🙂

I never use Amazon…

If that is the case and you don’t feel like buying other things, there will be a small shipping fee that can vary from where exactly you live. This will add to your total by around 5 bucks, which is a very decent price.

Without any more hassle, here is a direct link to the Love pill.

But if you are browsing on Amazon and keep stumbling on lots of other awesome things you want to buy, you can add those to your basket and when you reach a certain amount, the shipping will become automatically free. Something to think about 😉

Now, what about the delivery? What if you want the book arriving at your doorstep in less than 2 days?

If you can’t wait for the Love pill to arrive, but feel reluctant to pay double to speed up the shipping, you can throw in free Prime membership trial.

The delivery time will be reduced significantly, so you don’t have to pay for faster shipping either. Prime is their ‘exclusive’ membership that gives you all sorts of advantages, for a price usually, but they offer a free trial that lasts a whole month.

And you can cancel the free trial right after you made the purchase if you are scared that you will forget to cancel. Or you can keep using it, that is really up to you.

So if you have a lot of different things in your basket, are a prime member or don’t mind paying a couple of extra bucks, shopping in the US store should be totally fine.

Now, you guys are in luck, because Amazon.com has another program, called Kindle Matchbook. This means that sometimes you can pick up the ebook at a very low price or  even for free, so definitely keep an eye out for that! This is only available in the US store, so that is pretty awesome.

The Love pill is enrolled in this program too, so when you buy the paperback, make sure to pick up the ebook on your way out, completely free of charge!

If you enjoyed the book, please rate the book or write me a short review on Amazon or even on Wattpad. It would help me out a lot and will help other readers find my book too!

3. I count in pounds £££

For my pals in the UK: Shipping inside your region should be free, so no reason not to order the book, you lucky duck 🙂

So the only question is: how fast do you want your book to arrive?

I want it soon! Yes, yes, yay!

You could pay extra for faster shipping, which of course, works. But hey, we are trying to save some money here!

So I suggest signing up for Amazon Prime, which is their ‘exclusive’ membership that gives you all sorts of advantages, for a price of course, but there is a free trial that lasts a whole month. If you are a student, even six months.

Relevant for you, is that it gives one-day shipping, so if you are an impatient person like me and want the book to arrive faster, I suggest signing up for Amazon and quickly throwing in Prime too. You can cancel it right after you made the purchase, if you are worried you might forget ( like me) or use your free month for other purchases. That is all up to you, really.

Get started here:

I can wait a couple of days. I think.

If you don’t mind waiting a little bit longer and don’t want all the hassle, you can just click the provided link, select the paperback and click purchase.

Amazon will guide you, which will take you through setting up an account. It won’t take you more than 5 minutes, but it is mandatory as you have to fill out your shipping address so it won’t end up at your neighbour’s house or the post office. That would be a shame.

You can also select on which day you want it to arrive. Not home on the weekend and worried the book might get wet or won’t fit in your mailbox? Just select when you will be home!

If you enjoyed the book, please rate the book or write me a short review on Amazon or even on Wattpad. It would help me out a lot and will help other readers find my book too!

4. I count in yen ¥ ¥ ¥

If you live in Japan: there is a Japanese Amazon, but I have no clue how the tax is there or if the shipping is free or expensive and how fast they deliver. I am still studying hiragana, katakana and kanji, so I can’t tell you much about this Amazon store. My sincere apologies.

Regardless, you can still check my book out here!

I sadly can’t give you any more tips or hints, but I suggest reading the guide and comparing it to your own buying experience.

If you enjoyed the book, please rate the book or write me a short review on Amazon or even on Wattpad. It would help me out a lot and will help other readers find my book too!
